Sirius Black didn’t escape from Azkaban. He simply graduated early.
Azkaban University is a very exclusive institution. No exchange programs, no holidays, and the dorms are guarded by Dementors who suck out your happiness instead of your student loans. Still, Sirius enrolled anyway—against his will, sure, but education is education.
As a student, Sirius was… problematic. He skipped classes (mostly because the doors were locked), ignored the dress code (those stripes are not flattering), and constantly complained about campus life. His favorite subject was Advanced Brooding, with a minor in How to Stare Dramatically at the Wall for Twelve Years.
The professors (also Dementors) said he had “great potential,” mostly because he didn’t go completely insane like the rest of the class. His final thesis, “Why I’m Innocent and Also This Place Is Terrible,” was never officially approved, but he still managed to graduate by breaking all the rules.
In the end, Sirius Black became Azkaban University’s most famous alumnus. Proof that with enough determination, trauma, and a little help from being an Animagus, you too can drop out of the worst university in the wizarding world.
